The Metro NY Chapter of the US National Committee for UN Women is partnering with Eileen Fisher to introduce UN Women's "Voices Against Violence" program in New York City. Urjasi Rudra, project manager for Voices Against Violence, will be speaking about the curriculum. Ravi Karkara, Senior Advisor to the UN Assistant Secretary-General/Deputy Executive Director, UN Women, will also speak at the event.
UN Women and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) have been working collaboratively to develop an informal curriculum known as “Voices Against Violence,” which is a primary prevention program to end violence against women and girls. The program’s curriculum strives to educate and empower children and young people – girls and boys ages 5 to 25 years – to promote respectful relationships and gender equality. After completing the training program, youth participants develop locally-relevant advocacy and community mobilization efforts. Following considerable success in its pilot countries, UN Women is introducing the "Voices Against Violence" program in the US with this launch event in New York City.
The Eileen Fisher Soho store will also hold a special shopping day on that same day where 10%of all sales* on April 27 at the Soho store will be donated to UN Women programs. Come shop for a good cause!
