On March 22, we launched a new partnership with the Carnegie Council for Ethics and International Affairs with the panel discussion, Beyond #MeToo: A Dialogue on Sexual Harassment. The panelists agreed that the #MeToo movement provides a pivotal opportunity to push lasting change in male-dominated institutions and systems. There is a critical need to shift power dynamics, and change cultural values, beliefs and behaviors that have driven the long history of gender-based violence at home, and sexual harassment, sexual exploitation and abuse in the workplace. One of the panelists, Michael Kimmel, sociologist and executive director of the Center for Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University provided guidance and tips on how men could get involved in the conversation and help to move the #MeToo agenda forward.
