METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CHAPTER, USNC, UN WOMEN NOMINATING COMMITTEE SEEKS 2019-2021 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Nominating Committee for the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women is seeking nominees for election to the 2019–2021 Board of Directors. The Committee is looking for individuals with relevant experience and resources, who will actively contribute to the mission of advocacy and fundraising for UN Women, the UN entity dedicated to women’s empowerment and gender equality. We welcome all qualified candidates and seek a diverse group of nominees.
We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrated skills and experience in the following arenas:
Volunteers with experience in working with corporate sponsors, individual giving and fundraising events.
Senior management and human resources experience
Volunteers with expertise in marketing, writing, graphic design, public relations and social media.
Board Member Requirements:
Attend and engage in four annual board meetings tasked with directing the mission, goals, policies, strategies, legal and financial objectives of the Chapter.
Serve as a resource on at least one committee: Programming, Fundraising, Advocacy, Marketing, Membership, Finance, Young Professionals, Nominations
Attend Chapter events, and introduce the chapter to new networks
Impact revenue through either financial contribution or fundraising activity.
Maintain active membership through membership dues.

March 26–April 12 Applicant interviews
April 16–30 Membership votes on 2019-2021 Directors
May 15/16 Annual Meeting—Directors introduced; 2019-2021 term begins
