Why You Should Support Us
Women worldwide urgently need your help.
Many women still suffer from violence and discrimination. They are denied access to basic education, healthcare and decent work opportunities, and they are also highly underrepresented in political and economic decision-making processes.
Empowered women significantly advance peace, economies and sustainable development.
We support UN Women’s human-rights-based approach, which focuses on strengthening the voice of women and girls while removing the structural barriers to gender equality and women’s empowerment. When we make small investments that allow women and girls to be solution makers, peace builders and change agents for more resilient communities, the whole of society benefits and we lessen the need for costly interventions down the road.
We will continue to fight for gender equality and empowerment for every woman.
Our board members and volunteers are passionate about making a difference by protecting women and girls, advancing social norms to end gender inequality, and enacting change to achieve the transformative power of women and girls set at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As such, our volunteers dedicate thousands of working hours every year to raising awareness and funds to support UN Women’s activities to achieve these goals. Our board members also donate their time and have absorbed many expenses through the years to serve this community.
We need your financial support to create the world we want.
We are supported entirely by donations and fundraising, and depend on donated space and the goodwill of others who share our vision. If you agree with what we are trying to achieve, please join the USNC and give us your financial support. Donations are tax-deductible, can be made on an annual or monthly basis and proceeds go to support UN Women programs globally. Contributions can also be directed to the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and the UN Women’s Trust Fund for Gender Equality, which is dedicated to programs that support women’s economic and political participation.
The UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, managed by UN Women on behalf of the UN, has to date supported 426 initiatives in 136 countries and territories with grants totaling USD 116 million. In 2015, the fund awarded USD 12.86 million through 33 grants covering 29 countries and territories, bringing benefits to at least one million women, girls, men and boys.
